Hugging is definitely a powerful way of healing. Research shows that hugging is extremely effective at healing sickness, disease, loneliness, depression, anxiety, and stress.
Hugs currently don’t seem to be an important part of a relationship, as we now basically hug everyone when saying “hi” and “goodbye”. Yet they’re still an important form of expressing emotions with each other. Especially when it comes to strong emotions, both positive and negative. It’s important to know the meanings of hugs you share with your partner. The list you’re about to see will help you to understand the meaning of different hugs.
1. Legs wrapped around your waist
You can say this is the most romantic hug invented in the human history. Whenever this hug takes place, it is natural to feel as if the world is spinning around you. Hugs like this will bring energy back into your life.
2. The “one-way” street hug
These hugs usually happen when one partner is really feeling low and just want someone to lean on. The other partner may not have much of a clue about what is wrong, but they will just hold you until you feel like talking.
3. Hugs and eye contact
These hugs are very common during the initial phase of a relationship. These are the hugs you give while you still feel the butterflies in your stomach and while you kind of can’t keep your hands off each other.
4. The side/buddy hug
This is more of a “best buddies ever” kind of a hug. There is really nothing romantic about it, yet has a lot of friendly emotions trapped in it.
5. The typical back hug
This is another hug to display your romantic emotions to your better half. This is a hug you give to surprise someone with your sudden appearance.
6. The careless hug
If you ask me, I would rank this hug as high as the 1st. This is also one of the most romantic hugs out of all where the ones who are hugging will feel as if the time has been frozen. These hugs are pretty much spontaneous.
7. The suffocating hug
These hugs mean that you had a tough day or something went wrong. These hugs provide a great sense of relief as you will feel you have someone to rely on.
8. The Pampered Hug
There is no true romantic meaning connected to pampered hugs. These hugs are common with guys and girls who are trapped in the friend-zone. It means that you actually care for someone, but probably not in a romantic way.
9. Hugs without much contact
These are the most common hugs we encounter. There is nothing special about it and you just do it for the sake of doing it.
10. The end of the world type of a hug
You literally hug each other as it is the end of the world. It may not be the most eye-catching hug, but this is what a real romantic and extremely lovely hug should be.
