Grim Reaper in Florida Beaches

Despite having more than 4.2K people still hospitalized and more than 860 reported dead by the deadly virus, Florida has decided to reopen their beaches.

They have taken this decision as soon as they’ve “flattened the curve” of coronavirus infections and hopefully avoided the tragedy like in Italy and New York. While some are happy about reopening of the beaches, some Floridians are on tenterhooks that the virus will be spread further by this.

People have got into social media to express their concerns about the possible rise of infections due to this decision.

Out of them, one person’s attempt was unique.

Daniel Uhlfelder, a Floridian lawyer, schemes to travel around the beaches and other areas of Florida, to warn people of the consequences of ignoring the government’s plea to social distance, dressed up as the Grim Reaper. Uhlfelder plans to hit the road from May 1. His main message is to promote social distancing to prevent the spread of the virus. Also, he said on Twitter that “Our goal is to raise $20,000 to contribute directly to federal candidates between now and May 1”.

His master plan was probably inspired by the Swim reaper in New Zealand who became infamous in December 2016, when he kickstarted a campaign to encourage water safety among male youths. His endeavor has proven positive results as the number of deaths caused by drowning is now lower.Grim Reaper to be spotted in Florida beaches Grim Reaper to be spotted in Florida beaches

Uhlfelder has already ordered the Grim Reaper clothing.

The grim reaper is a mythical character who causes a person’s death by coming to collect that person’s soul. The novel coronavirus can indeed be called the grim reaper as it takes lives without prior information, but certainly more deadly. We can only hope that his attempt will be successful.
